Guide :Air Tools & Compressors : Electric Stationary Air Compressor - 7.5 Hp, 26.2 CFM At 90...

Unloader valves I have a North Star 7.5 hp elec. motor with a 29.2 cfm compressor on an 80gal tank. problem is, it runs off a generator, along with my spray foam equipment and it draws to much power when it starts, causing power surges. (not good for my equipment) can I put a unloader valve on the compressor and disable the pressure on off switch and let it run all the time, and still keep my pressure between 140 psi and 90psi? if so, will an unloader valve from a gas compressor work for this application or are there different ones out there.
